Certificate Task Force
The Certificate Taskforce was created in 2007 and is serving a one year term. Taskforce Members were recruited from all types of certification groups including community colleges, healthcare, consults and training organizations.
The Certificate Program Task Force scope is to outline the differences between certificate and certification programs and explore what NOCA’s future role might be with respect to certificate programs. Specifically, the task force has been charged with:
- Identifying the types of certificate programs currently available
- outlining how certificate programs might relate to NOCA’s mission and exploring whether expanding NOCA’s activities into the area of certificate programs might benefit the public and NOCA members and their certificants;
- building on The NOCA Guide to Understanding Credentialing Concepts to further defining the distinguishing features of certificate vs. certification programs;
- identifying the features of a quality certificate program; and
- proposing to the NOCA Board, for further study, possible initiatives, programs, products or services related to certificate programs.
